Pray For Weston!!

This last Thursday afternoon, my cousin Weston was in a horrible car accident in Florida.  He recently returned from his mission in Mexico City and we have become very good friends.  He is a great example to me of Christ-like love and service.  He was an incredible missionary.  I hope that I can follow in his footsteps when I begin my mission.

Weston was selling alarm systems in Florida. Traffic came to a sudden complete stop due to a highway chase when a truck rear ended them at full speed.. The truck tried to swerve to the right, but still took out a large portion of the car.. It was a miracle Weston was sitting on the left side. If he had been on the right I would've killed him on impact. However, because Weston was in the back seat, he got most of the blunt force. He was rushed to the hospital. His mother (my aunt) is in Florida with him as well as his grandpa from Georgia. The man who hit Weston is a marine and ripped open Weston's car door. He and his wife have paid for my aunt's air fair, hotel, etc and have been at the hospital with my aunt a lot. They are the sweetest people. He's still in very critical condition.. Induced coma, spine injuries, collapsed lung- not breathing alone, crushed spleen, broken bones, shattered facial bones that needed removal, internal bleeding, brain swelling, and so far no response when the pull him out of the coma.

This accident happened to occur on what would have been his father's 52nd birthday. His father passed away nearly 4 1/2 years ago from colon cancer.

Some SERIOUS prayers are needed for this family right now.  If you would like updates, there is a "Prayers For Weston" facebook page that is constantly being updated with news on his recovery every day.
Thank You all for you love and support
Always,

hey! *insert peace sign*

My dearest, darlingest blogger world:
I am honored to have been accepted into this life you call "blogging".  I can now truly consider myself a mormon girl.  YES! oh wait... I don't have a chevron maxi skirt and I'm 18 and unmarried... whoops.  I don't quite fit into that category yet. Eventually, am I right?
Anyways... I'm elli

I enjoy the mountains, wearing nike clothes, scarves, leggings, and grungy flannels, eating cookie dough ice cream, laughing, interacting with interesting people, throwing up peace signs, trying new things if they do not involve getting in trouble, and taking lots of pictures.

I have recently been called to serve an 18-month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Washington, D.C. South mission leaving August 20th.
I am beyond excited to preach the gospel to the people of D.C. and I am pumped to see the wonderful adventures that I will embark on.

I am also incredibly obsessed with BYU and the fabulous friends I have met there.

Most importantly, I am incredibly blessed for my wonderful family.  I truly do have a beautiful life and I am very excited to share it with this lovely blogging world.

until next time,
elli
